Biography of Artist Anuradha Thapa
Anuradha Thapa is a painter and sculptor who completed her Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) from BHU, Varanasi, India. Now, based in Biratnagar, her abstract art constantly allows her to express herself and the social issues related to women. She has been actively participating in many solo and group exhibitions for past 23 years. She was former President of Lalit Kala Sangam, Biratnagar. She is member of Sishsu Sewa Samiti, Chetan Pratibha Unnayan Pratisthan, Biratnagar.She has participated in international events, Narratives Group Exhibition Quincampoix, Paris, France(2018), International Art Symposium, Art Gallery, New Delhi, India (2018). She has also participated in many workshops in eastern Nepal, Art Workshop, Kala Sangam, Biratnagar (2018), Water Color Workshop and Exhibition, Painting Workshop and Exhibition Dharan, Nepal (2019), Water Color Workshop and Exhibition, Dhankuta, Nepal (2019), Art Workshop, Kakarbhitta, Nepal (2019), Painting Workshop, PABSON Morang, Pathari (2019) with many more small exhibitions all around the province. Her solo exhibition, Women Sensitivity: Present Perspective organized by Aarohan Gurukul and Lalit Kala Sangam, Biratnagar was one of a kind. She has also participated in various exhibitions such as, Biratnagar Group Exhibition 34th -36th, national art and craft exhibition conducted by Nepal Association of Fine Art (NAFA), Kathamandu. "Varsha" by ALL Nepal Women Art Exhibition, by NAFA, Kathmandu, Exhibition of Paintings by Nepal Forum of Women Society, Chetan Pratibha Pratisthan Group Exhibition, Biratnagar, National Art Exhibition, Nepal Fine Arts Academy (NFA), Kathmandu. She has also been awarded with Purbanchal Chetriya Pratibha Puraskar (Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation)(2017) ,Bhadra Kumari Ghale Sewa Pratibha Puraskar ( Bhadra Kumari Ghale, Kathmandu)(2017), Chetriya Rastriya Pratibha Puraskar ( Province-1 Biratnagar, Morang)(2020).
